Tips for Success

At Summer Orientation, students enrolled in the Forums will attend an academic advising workshop where important information regarding course enrollment will be discussed. Staff and Faculty well versed in each Forum requirement will be available to review your course selections with you. Remember to place courses in your SIS shopping cart before you attend orientation. For those with questions in advance, the following tips may be helpful.

Other Classes

You will receive an email before the end of June that asks you to identify the ENWR section (if applicable) and one additional Forum course in which you would like to pre-enroll. Please respond to this email by July 1 so that we can pre-enroll you in some of your classes.

Finally, it is of utmost importance that you re-familiarize yourself with your Forum's course requirements. Please visit your individual Forum webpage prior to attending Summer orientation.

Scheduling Suggestions

We have tried to make planning your schedule easier by providing some scheduling templates below. The first template should work for most everyone - it's a generic template that will help you space out your Forum requirements with other academic opportunities such as Electives, writing and foreign language requirments, major prerequisites, and courses that fulfill your major.

There are, however, some programs/tracks/majors we have identified that are more rigid. We have created specific templates to help those Forum students who plan on pursuing those programs/tracks/majors. If you don't see a template that pertains to you, please refer to the general scheduling template.

Remember, these are just suggestions as you begin to plan your first semester. Again, advisors will be available at Orientation and to help you make decisions.
